1. Drink more water

Leo Medley, Product Integration Manager at David Lloyd Clubs, says his best weight loss tip is to commit to drinking more water.

He recommends drinking “a minimum of 2-3 litres per day”.

Leo said: “Your body is made up of millions of tiny little cells, each of those cells requires fluid to function effectively and efficiently.

“If you don’t have enough water inside the body – you are preventing it from operating at the optimum level.”

Drinking more water will improve “concentration, energy levels and general performance”.

2. Sleep

Leo’s second tip is to get more sleep, which goes hand-in-hand with water as one of the key factors in letting your body recover.

If you have put in hard work in the gym you will want to get more deep sleep.

Leo said: “At least 8 hours sleep a night will move you closer to your desired outcome.”

3. Set goals

Michelle Dand, Head of Fitness Product and Programming, believes the key to weight loss is by setting a goal for later in the year.

She said: “The best way to stick to fitness goals is to book a challenge in for later in the year, you can break the training up into realistic chunks and have a goal to work towards and motivate you.”

4. Allocate some “me” time

Setting yourself a weight loss goal is all well and good, but it can be overwhelming.

Marie Graham, Group Exercise Product Development Manager, recommends setting aside some me-time before embarking on your weight loss journey.

She said: “Allocate yourself some ‘me time’ in advance to achieve your weight loss goals.

“If it is planned in you are more likely to stick to it. Do not feel guilty about allowing yourself this time.”
