A mum, who was unable to ride rollercoasters and struggled to sit on planes, has lost over 13 stone.
Gina Clark, from Teesside, has lost more than the combined weight of her two little girls.
The 31-year-old weighed a massive 23 and a half stone having enjoyed a diet of takeaways, fatty sandwiches and chocolate.
Gina wore a dress size 26 to 28 and couldn’t join in with lots of her kid’s favourite activities due to her weight.
She struggled to fit in standard plane seats.
But, Gina, mum to Ellie, 14, and Aiva, five, went on to join her local Slimming World group to lose weight.
And, boy has she…
The mum-of-two now weighs just 11st 7lb.
Gina has also gone on to snag her dream job as a health care assistant.
The successful slimmer told Teeside Live : “It just doesn’t feel real.
“I have always thought I’ll never get this weight off.
“I pick Aiva up and I can barely carry her.”
She continued: “At first I thought I will get to 19 stone and I’ll be happy.
“Then I thought I will get to 15 stone and I will be happy.
“I kept going and the rest of it fell off, it melted away.”
The mum said that she had been big ever since she was little.
Gina described herself as having been “bubbly” and “a big laugh”.
She added: “But that’s the thing – everything was big.
“I was always called ‘Big G’ or the BFG because I’m tall.
“When I danced to Dirty Dancing with friends it was always me doing the lift.”
She couldn’t ride rollercoasters with her daughters because the bar wouldn’t go down over her tummy.
Gina said: “I would struggle to fit in the airplane seat.
“I couldn’t go to the local shop to by clothes. It had to be in the plus size.
“At that time not many shops did curvy sizes, if they did it was the older fashions.
“My legs rubbed together in the summer.”
The mum-of-two sad that she felt ashamed of her size.
When she got into a new relationship, she was embarrassed that her partner had a “fat girlfriend”.
Gina hated that she was the biggest of her partner’s friend’s girlfriends.
She added: “I was sick of going to the doctor and them saying I was morbidly obese.”
So, she swapped fry ups for porridge and chocolate for fruit.
Within two years, Gina had reached her target weight – 12 stone 7lb – with Slimming World.
She decided to lose one more stone and within eight weeks she had achieved it.
During her weight loss journey, Gina was awarded Miss Slinky 2018, Woman of the Year 2018 and Greatest Loser 2019.
Now, the mum has sustained her 11stone 11lb weight loss for more than 12 months and is still a dress size 12.
Gina added: ”Something just stuck at that time and it literally fell off.
“People don’t recognise me at all, it’s quite funny.
“I have had to get a new passport because it doesn’t look like me.
“I recommend the plan to anybody.”
Included in her new diet are high protein lunches and dinners like omelettes, salmon and steak with veggies.
Snacks involve carrots with seafood dip, fruits and gherkins with ham.
Gina even gets to enjoy a Sunday roast.
The mum said: “It’s given me a whole new lease of life.
“Now it’s time for an engagement ring!”
