Microblading is one of the biggest beauty fads of the moment.
When carried out by a professional, it can create bold and defined eyebrows.
But sadly, the treatment doesn’t always go to plan.
One mum learned this the hard way when the procedure went horribly wrong.
She was left with four eyebrows – and subsequently dumped by the bloke she was dating.
Jami Ledbetter, 42, received microblading session as a gift.
The mum-of-three, who was born without eyebrows, was given a £190 treatment voucher by her daughters.
This thoughtful present ended in disaster – as the Kansas-based woman’s brows were botched.
Not only did this leave her with low self confidence, it also wreaked havoc on her relationship.
Jami told WDAF: “I would never wish this on my worst enemy.
“What it’s done to my self-confidence, it’s been hard. I was devastated.
“I was even dating a guy, and he stopped dating me at that point.”
The mum believes the procedure wasn’t carried out by a certified beauty therapist.
This could be the case, as microblading isn’t a licensed treatment in the state of Missouri.
Microblading is a technique similar to tattooing.
The process involves creating fine incisions in the skin, where pigment is implanting.
Light strokes replicate the look of hairs, which can create bold and defined brows.
In the UK, you need a licence to offer semi-permanent make-up treatments.
Always do your research before booking a session.
