The former Corrie star took a break from filming the hit BBC drama to model her debut range for Very.co.uk in a London theatre.
And Manchester-born Michelle took the opportunity to defend her busy schedule – which has seen her away filming in Cape Town and Malaysia for most of the year – against those who say her marriage to former Towie star Mark Wright is struggling.
“I don’t get much time off from work,” the 30-year-old admits.
“This year has been the busiest I have had so far. “When I had two weeks off from filming this summer I worked every day shooting this, which was really exciting but meant I didn’t have a lot of down-time. But when I do take a break I like to spend time with Mark.”
She says: “Landing the role for Our Girl has been my career highlight so far. It forced me to go out of my comfort zone. I’ve had the opportunity to shoot in so many amazing places around the world and I’ve really enjoyed the role.
“The best piece of advice anyone has ever given me is to stay true to who you are while being the best version of yourself you can be.
“This has been an amazing year – filming Our Girl and partnering with Very!”

Michelle will be working on Our Girl, which follows an Army medic serving overseas, up until Christmas.
But she still has fashion on her mind.
Admitting she’s a fan of cosy winter styles, she says: “I am going to be shooting in Malaysia, so autumn/ winter fashion won’t start for me until I am home for Christmas.
“What I love most about the season is layering. I am going to be wearing either jeans or leather trousers with a grey knit or tailored shirt and a great coat over the top.
“My go-to daytime look would be skinny jeans, a great tailored blouse and leather jacket. For a night out my go-to is always a little black dress.”
She adds: “I am so excited about my new range for Very.co.uk because it really taps into all pieces I would want for my own wardrobe.

“I have a busy lifestyle and within the new collection I have gorgeous tailored separates I can wear to a meeting or lunch date, I have denim and a fantastic leather jacket for a more dressed-down look and I have stunning embellished and sophisticated dresses for that special night out or event.
“As part of the Very collection I have also designed a line of active wear, loungewear and homewear which has been completely new to me and I’ve really enjoyed the challenge.”
And despite being so glamorous, Michelle says she would always choose comfort over style.
She reveals: “A rule I listen to when dressing for any occasion is make sure you are comfortable.
“If you are not sure about an outfit or don’t feel comfortable before you go out you will definitely hate what you are wearing later in the night.
“Always try and be true to yourself and your own style. Confidence is the most attractive look.
“I love buying loungewear. There is something so nice about coming in after a long day and putting on something cosy and comfortable.
“With travelling so much I live in comfortable clothes which can work on the plane and off.”
Michelle’s first collection for Very.co.uk is available from today.
