Queen’s outfit during speech causes huge stir online – can you see why?

Just yesterday, the Queen, 93, dressed down and ditched her crown at the State Opening of Parliament.

Her Majesty wore a turquoise day dress and matching hat when she delivered a speech at the annual ceremony.

But instead of focusing on what the Queen had to say, many were more invested in something else – the colour of her coat.

Following the heated debate about “the dress”, the public were divided over whether the Royal’s coat was blue or green.

One person tweeted: “The Queen looks chuffed she’s wearing blue.”

Another added: “The Queen looks like the green triangle that no one eats at Christmas.”

A third commented: “I reckon Queen is in Brexit colours today? Better than the royal blue hat with yellow flowers after Ref2016. #fashiontweet #QueensSpeech.”

And a fourth wrote: “Is Her Majesty the Queen wearing #green clobber to signify favouring Green Party policies #StateOpeningOfParliament.”

The Queen was joined by her son, and next King, Prince Charles at the event who sported a formal suit and tie.

It comes after the whole internet got involved over the debate of “the dress” .

Some people claimed to have seen it as white and gold, but others said it was blue and black.

Another heated debate involved the colour of a pair of trainers.

A woman shared a photo of the footwear after insisting they were pink and white, while her friend saw grey and aqua blue.

And back in 2017, a similar optical illusion surfaced online showing a chest of drawers .

Many were adamant that the item was pink and white, but others insisted that it was blue-toned.
