Too fat to fly slimmer’s dramatic 8st weight loss after simple diet swap

A woman who broke a chair in Mexico due to her size has since unveiled her weight loss transformation.

Lisa Wortley, 34, from Yorkshire, tipped the scales at 22st 3lbs before she overhauled her lifestyle.

The mum couldn’t look at photos of herself and had clothes that didn’t fit before she joined her local Weight Watchers group.

Since she transformed her diet, Lisa lost an impressive 8st and dropped five dress sizes along the way.

Now speaking about her weight loss journey, Lisa has lifted the lid on how she turned her life around.

She said: “[I lost weight] because I couldn’t look at pictures of myself, my clothes didn’t fit correctly and I felt so unhealthy all the time – I was always tired and short of breath.

“I broke a chair in Mexico due to my size and couldn’t fit comfortably into the airplane seat. I wanted to be fit and healthy for myself, my children and my husband, so they’d all be proud of me.”

Lisa started by planning her meals in advance and followed Weight Watchers by reading all the advice on their online community.

Then the more weight she lost, she began to exercise which encouraged her to keep going when she saw results.

The mum added: “The more weight I lose, the better I’ve began to feel about myself and I’m a happier person in general.

“I still continue to track all my food and have a routine for exercise and to keep active.

“I no longer have to go to the plus size section when I buy clothes, or specialist shops. I can wear what I like, I don’t snore, I have all the energy in the world and I feel like a new person!”

Now giving advice for others who want to lose weight, Lisa explained: “Drink lots of water, it’s not a myth! Don’t fool yourself, if you have a bad day, start again the next day. Plan all your food in advance and if you’re short on time, cook in bulk.”
