Christmas party season is upon us, which means festive frocks and shiny numbers are being ordered tenfold.
As usual, clothing empire Fashion Nova has an array of fabulous outfits to choose from for the festive season, but some might leave you feeling a little bit chilly.
A brand new number called the Wine Up Satin Maxi Gown is dividing opinion over its weirdly placed sheer slits.
The gold maxi is full of glamour, featuring rhinestone straps and a mermaid silhouette, but it also has two mesh inserts that expose both the waist and thighs.
Fashion Nova’s design makes it look like the dress has three elements, a crop top, a mini skirt and a bit of extra material on the bottom.
And while many Fashion Nova fans loved the quirky and alternative dress, it got over 25,000 likes when it was posted on Instagram, others weren’t so sure.
Mainly, people seemed to be put off by the placement of the double mesh panels.
Commenting on the social media platform, one fashion fan wrote: “I feel like the bottom two parts should stay together and only the top should be split. Then it would look perfect.”
Another added: “Kind of tacky. Not impressed.”
While a third pointed out: “I like the slit under the butt but not so much the waist.”
However, the show-stopping number is still available online if you’re interested.
It features padded bra cups, is lined, and has a hidden back zipper.
The maxi currently costs £72.99, but it might be worth waiting to see if it’s reduced in the store’s Black Friday sale.
It comes after the clothing empire launched an unusual Christmas tree crop top.
The festive number won’t keep you warm, but you’ll certainly look the part.
