Rosie Alty was a healthy size 10 before two pregnancies led her to gaining more weight.
At her heaviest, the 31-year-old, from Merseyside, was shocked to see she tipped the scales at 14st.
Her turning point came when she was shopping for an outfit for a night out with friends.
The mum tried on a size 14 dress expecting it to fit – but ended up getting herself stuck.
Now in a bid to kick-start her weight loss, Rosie decided to follow the Terri Ann 123 Diet Plan.
“I was in total denial that I had crept up to a size 16-18”
She said: “I was a size 10 before I had my children and I was in total denial that I had crept up to a size 16-18 over the past years.
“I just couldn’t believe I’d got stuck in a dress that would have once hung off me. Luckily my friend was with me to help me out.
“We had to pull the zip really hard and ended up breaking it as there was no other way out.
“It was mortifying and I just wanted the ground to swallow me up. I knew from then, something needed to change – it really was a wake-up call for me.”
Before her journey, Rosie lived off junk food, takeaways and sugary treats like sweets and chocolate.
A typical day would start with a coffee followed by a sugary cereal and biscuits.
Lunch would be anything high-carb with pudding which was then followed by more sweets and chocolate.
And finally for dinner, the mum gorged on takeaways or junk food, which was washed down with fizzy drinks.
“Looking back, I don’t know how I was so unaware that I was gaining weight,” she added.
After her friend introduced her to the Terri Ann 123 Diet Plan, Rosie made progress quickly which spurred her on to keep going.
The diet, which was created by founder Terri Ann Nunns in 2011, is made up of three stages.
Rosie said: “I’ve never followed a diet plan before so I was worried about it, but for me planning and meal prep was key.
“Apart from a headache on the second day from reducing my sugar intake, I found it a total breeze.
“It was hard at first not reaching for chocolate as I usually would, but the results came so fast and I was so happy with them that it kept me focused.”
The mum’s diet changed drastically since following the plan and now she enjoys a balanced lifestyle.
Rosie – who now weighs a healthy 9st 12lbs – ditched the sugary snacks and drinks, which she swapped for nuts, fruit and carrot sticks.
She concluded: “I’m now a happy and healthy size 10 and have got my confidence back.
“I no longer feel scared taking my kids swimming, I don’t feel like I need to hide when I get changed and I can stand in front of a mirror without cringing.
“The diet has honestly changed my life and I would recommend the plan to anybody. It’s become a lifestyle, not just a diet.”
