A 14-year-old boy dubbed the world’s heaviest kid has shared his incredible weight loss transformation.
At his heaviest, Arya Permana, from Karawang, Indonesia, used to weigh around 30st 2lbs.
He has become much more active and as a result, the weight has been dropping off.
But before the teenager used to struggle with simple activities like walk down the road or even take a bath.
Now since his weight loss surgery, he lost an incredible 15st from the procedure.
And while he’s been more active now, Arya has been left with excess skin on his chest, stomach, back as well as his arms.
The skin on his arms left Arya feeling embarrassed and he would try to cover it up with long shirts.
When it came to participating in sports, the teenager’s excess skin would rub and irritate him.
He underwent the first of at least four planned surgeries at the Hasan Sadikin Hospital in July 2019.
Now the boy hopes to return for further skin removal surgeries in the future.
But with the coronavirus pandemic, it is not confirmed when he will be able to go under the knife again.
Arya shed his weight with the help of gastric bypass and a personal trainer.
The trainer taught the young boy how to eat properly and what exercises to complete.
His dream of becoming a professional footballer inspired him to fight the flab.
The trainer told Asia One: “According to Arya’s parents, initially he weighed 85kg before his appetite increased extremely.
“He is now losing weight without losing his spirit. This is a rare quality, especially among adults.
“Arya is now a symbol of hope. People now say: ‘Even Arya can lose weight, so why can’t I?'”
Before his weight loss, Arya would eat five times a day, chomping through enough rice and curry to feed two adults for a whole day.
