You’ve been applying glitter nail polish wrong this entire time

Every wondered why your glitter nail polish doesn’t look as good as you hoped?

No matter how many layers you apply, the shiny stuff never seems to stick.

Well, a beauty blogger has explained why you only get a few flecks of glitter when you do it the regular way, and shared a simple hack to getting it right.

The simple and super effective nail tutorial by Kelli Marissa shed light on how to get maximum sparkle.

Glitter nail polish can be a nightmare to apply

In a video on YouTube in 2016, Kelli urged people to stop aimlessly coating their nails in glitter polish.

Instead, Kelli revealed a few simple tools she uses to get her glitter nails on point.

After applying a base coat, the beauty blogger uses a cosmetic sponge to apply her nail polish.

Instead of taking the nail brush to her nails, she instead paints the edge of a makeup sponge.

This allows the sponge to soak up all the polish, leaving behind the glitter.

She then dabs the glitter onto the finger nail and leaves to dry.

Kelli finishes by covering the glitter in a top coat.

The results? The nails look almost identical to the glitter in the nail polish, something that rarely happens when you apply it straight from the bottle.
